Description
Specific Responsibilities.
· Work with the different functional areas within Cogeco to define and document requirements for software solutions.
· Analyse, design, develop, test and maintain Cogeco Cable applications and interfaces.
· Document developed applications so they can be maintained
· Implement new software tools to improve Cogeco's software development environment.
· May need to work with consultants to deliver solutions.
· May need to work with various vendors to develop new functionality in systems or to maintain existing systems.
· Provide input to project plans and schedules for significant application systems development efforts
· Code, test and implement programs
· Complete programming assignments
· Design and document implementation plans for large projects
· Perform problem resolution and support activities
· Coordinate system testing and programming assignments
· Research system problems
· Plan, document and execute full unit, system, and integration test plans and scripts
· Document technical specifications
· Perform on-call support as required
· Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
- ASP, ASP.NET, Oracle PL/SQL, VB SQL server, Java, JSP and UNIX are an asset for at least 1 of the 4 contractors
- Communication skills must be excellent
- Strong analysis skills - they will be doing their own and then programming
- Project will be surrounding C198 (Cdn vs of SOX), control around money management
· University Degree
· Minimum of 5 - 8 years experience in Information Technology in all phases of the systems development lifecycle
· Minimum of 5 years programming experience
· Minimum of 3 years analytical experience
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal, and organizational skills
· Effective analytical and planning skills
· Knowledge of SQL, Unix
· Knowledge of SDLC Methodology
